A key element of the IMPACT project is the establishment of structures that facilitate a discipline-specific application and awareness of the relevance of intersectional gender perspectives, supported by external expertise. This goal is advanced through the IMPACT Fellowship, announced at least once a year in collaboration with selected research focus areas.
The IMPACT Fellows will contribute to the integration of intersectional gender perspectives by initiating spaces for discourse, identifying discipline-specific challenges, and discussing scientific solutions. The fellowship invites exceptional guest researchers to the University of Cologne who work at the intersection of their respective fields and intersectional gender studies, with an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.
- · Demonstrate the relevance of integrating intersectional gender perspectives within specific research fields.
- Strengthen the networking of researchers engaging with gender perspectives, fostering broader integration of intersectional gender aspects.
- Further develop training and qualification opportunities for researchers.
The specific duration of the fellowship and formats for collaboration (in-person, online, and/or hybrid) will be customized in consultation with research partners and the fellow.
This flexibility ensures responsiveness to existing structures, research needs, and the circumstances of the guest researchers. Fellowships may consist of a continuous in-person stay or multiple shorter visits.
The fellowship includes the following activities:
- IMPACT Lecture:a specifically designed lecture as part of existing events or programs with participation from University of Cologne researchers, building on established formats of research partners.
- Ad-Hoc Dialogues:Collaborating with smaller groups of researchers to foster perspectives for research partnerships, project developments, and/or third-party funding strategies
- Participation in Gender-Sensitive Methods and Theory Workshops:Engaging in workshops designed in collaboration with the IMPACT scientific coordinator, offered within the interdisciplinary AMC program for doctoral candidates and postdocs.
